Alumni Association Board of Directors
Members of the Alumni Association Board are an important part of the School’s success. The School of Social Work has it own Alumni Association Board of Directors, composed of twenty-one alumnus, the Dean, two faculty members, two graduate students a
nd staff representation. In addition to the voting board membership, the Alumni Association has a Senior Advisory Council whose membership provides valuable insight and guidance for the Association’s activities.
The Board’s activities focus on four main areas of support for the School of Social Work. Members of the Board participate in committees that work to:
- Maintain continued interest in the graduates and the students of the School
- Support and promote the School of Social Work and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
- Provide an opportunity for fellowship and renewal of friendships among graduates and between the graduates, students, faculty and staff of the School
- Provide an instrument for fund-raising to benefit the School
- Sponsor workshops and seminars which promote social work professionalism and continuing education opportunities for alumni as well as faculty and students
