Current employment experience:

Elizabeth works as the Early Childhood Mental Health & Development (ECMHD) Manager at the Mental Health Center of Champaign County where she oversees the administration and clinical implementation of six early childhood/infant mental health and substance abuse prevention programs.  All ECMHD programs are research based and receive grants from a variety of funders. Her responsibilities include oversight of contracts, finances, employees, and clinical services within the department.  She provides reflective supervision, grant writing, clinical staffings and best practice standards, maintaining funding relationships, contract compliance, and oversight of program supervisors. Elizabeth also serves as a consultant and professional trainer for the Ounce of Prevention Fund in Chicago and Springfield. 

Previous experience:

Prior to working at the MHC, Elisabeth was a full time faculty member at the Ounce of Prevention Fund.  Her work involved training design and implementation as well as consultation to professionals working in infant mental health. Some of her specialties include assessment, sexual abuse prevention, social and emotional development in early childhood, reflective supervision, and the parent child relationship.

Education background/licensing/certifications:

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: MSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Master Trainer Prevent Child Abuse America and other trainer certifications.

In addition:

Elizabeth truly enjoys teaching SW 531 & SW 532. She views her role as bringing the professional experience and knowledge to assist students in their field placement both clinically and within the context of their field placement as an intern.
